17 Apr Conservatives Secure £7.5 million Investment for Nuneaton Town Centre
The Conservative led County Council Cabinet has worked together with the Local Enterprise Partnership and the Conservative Government, to secure much needed investment to assist with the redevelopment of Nuneaton Town Centre.
Cllr Jeff Clarke, Portfolio Holder for the Environment and County Councillor for Nuneaton East, said:
“As a Cabinet Member who represents a Nuneaton division, I am pleased to see that funding is now forthcoming to start the delivery of much needed projects for Nuneaton which many residents and businesses have been crying out for. I know that regenerating Nuneaton has been a priority for Conservatives leading the County Council at Shire Hall.”
“I was pleased to be a main speaker at the MIPM event last year representing Warwickshire and Nuneaton in particular, and I am thrilled that Nuneaton has managed to secure a massive £7.5 million allocation. Hopefully the funding will lead to the regeneration of the Vicarage Street end of town and encourage further investment into our town.
“This is a good example of National, Warwickshire and Nuneaton Conservatives working together to secure this investment. Conservatives at Shire Hall will continue to ensure that much-needed support is continued for Nuneaton.”
Rob Tromans, Conservative Candidate for Weddington, enthusiastically welcomed the announcement of £7.5 million investment into Nuneaton.
Rob said: “Over the last four years Weddington has been badly neglected in the provision of schools, roads and medical facilities needed to ensure that it can cope with the demands being imposed on it due to Labour’s Borough Plan.
“The Labour Borough Council have failed to provide the infrastructure requirements needed to underpin their planned development, and this Conservative investment shows yet again that only the Conservatives have a sustainable and deliverable plan for Nuneaton.”
